One can certainly claim that Millennials and Gen-Z culture is hugely defined by working hard under a not-so-supportive economy but also wanting to get away from it all. We’re a generation that wants to enjoy, but responsibly. This destination was the most obvious one to add in your list – it’s home to possibly the greatest architecture that is symbolic of love; the Taj Mahal. Agra is one of the places that doesn’t lose its charm, even after the hundredth picture you see of someone pretending to touch Taj Mahal’s dome tip. There’s a magnificence to be discovered in the mausoleums and tombs, as well as in roaming around colorful marketplaces with your significant other. Agra also offers a variety of street foods like Pethas, Parathas, Bhalla, Dalmoth, etc. made by professionals that’ll get you addicted in no time.


2 hours drive from Delhi

This ancient town in the Alwar district of Rajasthan houses one of India’s oldest heritage resorts – The Neemrana Fort. Every bit of this palace is as beautiful as one could imagine it to be, and the Zip Lining facility available here adds to the excitement. If you or your significant other is interested in local handicrafts or would even like to support local artists and producers, Neemrana should be on your to-do list. 9 hours drive from Delhi

This small corner near Shimla in Himachal Pradesh is completely blanketed by mountains. Its serenity and the Himalayan hills are a sight one craves after spending days in the concrete jungle – Delhi. The Naldehra Golf Course is one of the oldest and the most scenic sites in the country. There is something really enjoyable about being able to roam in the apple orchards with a significant other, looking at the wonders of nature and enjoying fresh fruit. River rafting, horse riding, forest walks and heritage walks that tell stories about the struggle for Independence are also some activities to be experienced in this little hamlet tucked away from the daily hustle-bustle of other places.

6 hours drive from Delhi

If you and your significant other love wading into forests to come closer to nature, or even like exploring religious sites, Jim Corbett is the place for you. Located in the Nainital District in Uttarakhand, this is the perfect spot for a quick weekend getaway. The Jim Corbett National Park is known for its Bengal tigers. Animals, including tigers, leopards, and wild elephants roam the Dhikala zone. Many restaurants and eateries here are light on the pocket, and offer cuisines like Indian Chinese, French, Italian, etc. Located near the river Kosi, one can also pay a visit to Garjiya Devi Temple near the National Park. 


7 hours drive from Delhi

Another gem from Uttarakhand, Lansdowne is one of the quietest hill stations in India. Quite accessible and easy to navigate, this place provides a home-like comfort no matter where you stay. While restaurants are few and far in between, it only adds to the peace and charm, and local produce is easily available in markets as well. The weather is marvelous, and one can feel the shift in the air, especially if travelling from Delhi. It is also home to the famous Tiffin Top, which offers a mesmerizing view that can be enjoyed with a steaming cup of tea or a bowl of Maggi. 


6 hours drive from Delhi

A 6-hour drive via Yamuna Expressway, the city houses the elaborate Jai Vilas Palace, the historic seat of the Scindias, which was one of the subcontinent’s most revered dynasties. A boating opportunity awaits you at the Tighra Dam, as do local delicacies like namkeen. If you or your partner are History geeks with a penchant of taking long walks in Palaces and Forts, Gwalior is the place for you. This city was a witness to Rani Lakshmi Bai’s rebellion of 1857, as well as to the birth of Tansen, one of the most admired singers in the court of Emperor Akbar. Gwalior is rich in culture, with the Gwalior Trade Fair that showcases the heritage of central India, and also offers Maheshwari and Chanderi Sarees and beautiful leatherware.
